Cheap accomodations in Paris

From Julien, who asked me if I could relay this info on PDP:

We (the organizers of Planet, a congress for students and young professionals in urban planning around the world) have booked too many beds in the Paris International Accommodation Centre, a comfortable youth hostel located at Boulevard Kellermann near the Metro station Porte d'Italie and the Bus line P.C. (Petite Ceinture).

This Centre is surrounded by a garden and has parking facilities for buses and cars.

We have 9 double bedrooms (2 beds), with shower and private bathroom available at a very reasonnable price (135 euros for the 3 nights, instead of 150 euros) - Click here for more info.

For more information, please contact Anne-Laure at al.janson@caramail.com

Enjoy your stay in Paris!

Come to the PDP General meeting on June 9

If you're a PDP lover, if you're English, Australian, American, Dutch, Spannish, Turk, Taiwanese, Philipinian... and want to meet Parisians, if you're Parisian and want to meet people from all nationalities, well it's simple: come to the open air PDP picnic that will take place... Ta da... On the Port du Louvre, on the embankment at the end of rue de l'Amiral Coligny (Metro Station is Louvre Rivoli). Opening 7 pm. Hotline: 06 09 68 10 11.

BYOB (No, it does not stand for Bring Your Own Beret as Pam (From Tenerife) suggested (!), but Bring your own booze (bottle) AND something to eat that we can all share.

How to recognize the gathering? Well, we will be at the bottom of the little slope that takes to the embankment at this point. I will also try to bring a couple of candles and light them up, and there will be me, obviously. But don't trust the photo you see on PDP, it's 5 years old!

Who can show up? Anybody who is nice, merry, with a positive mindset (a friend of mine would say "oh, so no French is going to show up then!!") .

Can you come with a friend? Of course, as long as he or she meets the above requirements!

See you on Friday!

Here is the map (courtesy of Michel from Spirit of Paris who will attend)

Here is also a little video that is supposed to show you the way from the metro exit to the picnic set (sorry the quality is not very good).
