Hey, is that a macaron? Glad you had nice weather for sipping a cafe dehors.

Does the coffee cup fit into a stand on the tray? I haven't seen that inverted V shaped bottom before.

Now that's how coffee should be served. The drink of kings and queens. Classy!

Petrea Burchard a dit…

Classy is right. Nice shot. My mouth's watering.

It does Tall Gary, that is actually why I took this photo. They have this very clever system where they kinda clip the cup into the saucer. really cool.

And like you, it's the first time I see this. I wonder who designed this...

After reading the JDD this morning, I was just thinking: I have to pay a little visit to this museum.

And btw, the other café on the other side is quite nice as well. ;)

You're talking about Le Totem Angele. It's more a "real" restaurant than a snacking place really, isn't?

Angele a dit…

Café de l'Homme? It must be the old name. :)
But I guess it is more... chic thus expensive. You're right: it's more a restaurant than a snack place actually.

Thanks for the info Eric. The cup is also "insulated" so there is no chance of burning fingers. Yes, it is just as you say, a really clever and (literally) cool design.

Now I'm curious about the "clipping" mechanism. Would squeezing the cup do anything?

Sherry a dit…

It looks yummy. I miss coffee.

Eric a dit…

No Gary le grand, sqeezing the cup does not do anything. But you're right, I did not think it was burn proof. I thought it was just pretty.

I wish I knew who designed them.

Found it! Stark designed these cups. Of course!
